Busy, Busy, Busy.

I sure have been keeping myself busy this past month. Between the new job (which is going extremely well), selling/packing/shipping a billion things on eBay, and moving, I haven’t really had much time for anything else.

The move-in date is coming closer and closer, and it just seems like I keep adding stuff to my list of things to buy for the new place. Which is bad, because eBay is being absolutely stupid and isn’t letting me sell my Mac Pro because of some undisclosed copyright violation. They’re not even telling me what I did wrong (if anything at all) - they just take down my listing and suspend my account. Stupid eBay.

Anyway, the paint preparation begins Thursday night of this week, and the actual painting starts Friday. This leaves Saturday and Sunday for moving stuff if all goes according to plan. If it doesn’t, then whatever. I still have two more weekends after that to move everything outta the old place.

And that has been my life.

See you later, Mac Pro.

With all of this great new stuff going on lately, there are bound to be a few bumps in the road. To put a long story short, I have not received any compensation for my last month and a half at Rithum (in other words, no pay since the end of June). I certainly was not counting on this happening, which is why I went ahead and made the jump to buy a new car and sign a lease for a nice place to live in Schaumburg. Lately I’ve been trying to draw the line between things I have that I need and things that I simply want to have. First things on the list are my Nintendo DS (because honestly, I play it like once every couple months), and my iPod Classic (I have an iPhone now, I don’t need two iPods). Those are up on eBay now.

Unfortunately that just isn’t enough. It was a tough decision, but I finally accepted the fact that I’m going to have to sell my Mac Pro. Now, let me justify this decision. Culture22 has a beast of a Mac Pro set up at my work station. I’ll be doing all of my big projects on this machine at work. I’m not in school anymore and I don’t work for Rithum anymore - I have no reason to have such an expensive machine at home. I’ll be using my MacBook Pro as my main computer starting next week. It’s sad to see it go, but it just seems like it’ll serve a much better purpose right now as money instead of a beefy home computer. Hopefully I’ll get enough out of it to lower my financial stress level, and I’m crossing my fingers that I won’t have to go further than this.

With that said, farewell, Mac Pro. It’s been a good two years.

About

I’m not the most confusing person in the world. I’m easily entertained, love wasting time, and am addicted to buying things that I shouldn’t. Show me a new Apple product and I’ll somehow convince you (or at least myself) that I need it.

I work for Culture 22, a design + motion studio in Schaumburg, doing mainly After Effects motion design (with a side of Flash).

I also have an undying love for organizing things, whether it be music in my iTunes library or food in my pantry.
